Located on a plot of 2100 square feet and built on four different levels. The Entrance to the house is at stilt level which is partially occupied by parking and services. Geometric shapes like large circular cut outs in the walls and ceilings bring birth to the ecstatic play of spaces between interior and exterior. Double height Living and adequate lighting keeps the house cool and pleasurable place to reside in. Addition and subtraction within the cuboids stacked together create the basic massing of the residence. The entire planning focuses on spatial quality of a Residence. The House for the client is designed to incorporate the luxury of an open plan with spacious and comfortable open indoor spaces in a tight site. As one enters the house, small glimpses of this abundantly lit central floating swimming pool with circular glass slits of 1200mm dia gives a sense of curiosity and surprise. The most striking feature of the Residence is the 40 feet wall finished with cement in contrast to the the back Lit Lacquered copper sheets at irregular intervals. The First floor of the private residence houses an informal living area which again can be visually accessed from various points at altered levels of the house. On either sides of the informal living is the bedrooms which are vivaciously lit and opens onto the outer deck. The circular open to sky cut out is seen from the extended balconies of every room at every level. Similar materials in the interiors, like extensive use of wood as the backdrops in bedroom, railings and furniture keeps the indoor warm and familiar. Planning movement and circulation in along the length of the house brings in fluidity and continuity .The private bedroom areas are pushed which the front the view to the edges, Following the aesthetic of modern architecture. the house design is functional and elegant.
